| What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is often described as a calm,
relaxed state of mind, however the mind, also
enters into a trance like state in many everyday
situations. It is a natural state that the
human mind defaults to when one is highly
focussed on an activity, such as a sport,
attention to detail to the exclusion of external
disturbances or when one is consciously doing
something repetitive, slow, or even when just
relaxing, unwinding and chilling.
What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is that state of altered
awareness described above that is induced
by the hypnotherapist in order to enlist the
help of the subconscious mind to bring about
effective therapeutic and positive changes,
speed up recovery time and provide the individual
with a new skill set that will last a life
time.

Is
it officially recognised?
In 1955 the British Medical Association (BMA)
and in 1958 the American Medical Association
(AMA) recognised the use of Clinical Hypnosis.
Since then thousands of people have found
hypnosis to be an effective way to stop smoking,
lose weight, overcome fears, phobias, stress/anxiety
and other areas to improve the quality of
their lives.
Is hypnosis safe?
YES 100%. Hypnosis is completely safe.
Hypnosis is a state of altered awareness,
not sleep or unconsciousness. You are aware
and in control of your body and mind during
hypnosis and you can terminate the session
at any time.
Hypnosis is used in modern medical health
practises to work in conjunction with medicine.
Examples of its use are seen in dentistry,
child birth, surgery and pain management.
You cannot be made to do anything against
your will and you cannot get “stuck” in a
state of hypnosis. Hypnosis is a safe, relaxing
and enjoyable experience.
